What were the top 3 mistakes you made starting out with your business, and if you could start over what would you do differently?
- Not investing enough in brand
- Waiting too long to hire
- Set quantifiable goals
Every first-time founder experiences growing pains. A year and a half after we were founded, we grew our team from two to ten within a few short months. Hiring allowed us to grow our business much faster. We quickly learned that setting quantifiable goals was the best way to keep our team motivated and give them a framework to judge their progress. Early on, it is very easy to ignore brand while you focus on shipping a product. As a consumer-facing company helping people make the biggest investment of their life, brand is one of your biggest assets.
