Selva SundaraPandian is the Co-Founder of RentALLScript. He is an enthusiastic entrepreneur with a passion to help other entrepreneurs to enhance their business performance. He is a voracious reader. He encourages and creates space for his team to learn more and grow consistently.

What is RentALLScript all about?

RentALLScript is a marketplace solution provider that helps you digitize your business. We specialize in transforming your traditionally running business into an on-trend online business model. We cater to the needs of more than 300+ entrepreneurs by providing exciting and quality web solutions and apps, based on an online peer-to-peer rental marketplace and on-demand marketplace. We have created 5 products so far. And we recently released two interesting on-demand delivery-based app solutions named Wooberly, an Uber Clone, and WooberlyEats, an UberEats Clone.

Tell us a little bit about your background and how you started your company?

I finished Engineering and worked majorly in Operations for 4.5 years in 2 different companies. My friend Sudharsana Rajalingam (We call him Sid) and I, co-founded a company called RentALLScript in 2017. It’s been 4+ years since we started and it has been an exciting journey so far.

What were the top mistakes you made starting your business and what did you learn from it?

When you do something wrong once, it’s an error. But when you repeat it, then it becomes a mistake. Over exaggeration about the product or service could be a major issue. When you promise more than you can perform to the customers, it could cause damage to your business reputation. The only solution is to be transparent to your customers. Transparency could help you gain the trust of your customers and help in customer retention.

What is one thing that you do daily to grow as an entrepreneur?

Talk to my team. I connect with them on a regular basis. Being an unapproachable boss would kill a very potential opportunity to grow – professionally or personally. And of course, read and also keep myself updated on trending technology.

What are three books or courses you recommend for new entrepreneurs?

I would personally suggest budding entrepreneurs to read these three books which hugely inspired me.

  • Good To Great by Jim Collins.
  • Lean Start-up by Eric Ries.
  • Zero to One by Peter Thiel with Blake Masters.

What has been your most effective marketing strategy to grow your Business?

Interaction with our customers. Whatever mode (Social Media, Email, WhatsApp, etc) they choose to communicate, it is important to reciprocate by educating them about your product. And to reach out to new customers, we mostly do it based on effective and consistent Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics and Social Media Marketing (SMM) by providing valuable, well-researched content to the audience – be it general or product-specific.

We work meticulously to achieve a good SEO score for the landing pages of our products Wooberly and WooberlyEats. And recently we accomplished it!

If you only had $1000 dollars to start a new business, knowing everything you know now, how would you spend it?

I would concentrate on developing a website to launch my creative products and with that, I will bring in customers to provide with the product and its core essential services.

What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?

Learning something new every day and finding opportunities to apply it.

  • Preach what you practice.
  • Your team is watching you and you’ll pose a greater impact on your team than you imagine.
  • Hard and Smart work triumphs talent. However talented you are it is important to put in the work to see the results. And the work we put in, has to be consistent and sincere for greater results.
  • Spend time with your family and take time for yourself – cultivate a new hobby or enrich your existing hobby. But never let go of the ME time. You’ll thank yourself later that you took the time to build yourself and a bond with your family.
  • Encourage your employee’s professional development. A pat on the back would be such a boost to them and sometimes they might need it to feel better about themselves. Give them the satisfaction that they are doing a great job at the company.

What’s a productivity tip you swear by?

This might sound silly. Make your bed. Yes, I said it. When you make your bed, that would be the very first accomplishment of the day. You’ll feel happy with yourself. You’ll have a great day – one step at a time. Even if you had a bad day, you won’t come home to an unkept bed – you’ll know you achieved something that day when you come back to your clean bed. I swear, it works.

What is your favorite quote?

It is hard for me to decide on one quote. But this particular quote works with my mindset better.

“To get something new done, you have to be stubborn and focused to the point that others might find unreasonable”

Jeff Bezos.

Besides the obvious social media tools available, what are the top 3 most useful tools or resources you’re currently using to grow your business?

We make the most through Buffer, Buzzsumo, and Canva. These are the three tools that we use to grow our business currently. But we never shy away from trying something new for learning purposes and business growth.

How can readers get in touch with you?

You can always reach out to me through my LinkedIn account. I am quite active there. Any advice, mentorship, even discuss your business ideas and views you can always ping me.
