Now more than ever, online learning has become the safest, most affordable, and convenient approach for you, your children, and your family’s educational needs. Speaking English opens a new world of endless possibilities, and Xpertly was created to make this experience possible for everyone.

Xpertly is designed for all English language essentials by providing low rates, convenience, and real results. We combine years of experienced and trained teachers, signature methods, and modern techniques to optimize students’ online learning experience. Xpertly zones into the accommodations of each student’s strengths and weaknesses and provides a customized plan formulated for your specific goals.

What is Xpertly all about?

At this time, our lives are carefully constructed and organized by personalization. We use a surplus of applications in our lives to add customization and convenience to our daily tasks and activities. At Xpertly, our primary mission is to link that same concept and correlate it to Education. We envision the future of Education with digitization and customization at the forefront.

Xpertly is an online English learning platform that helps students worldwide with their English needs. Our services include online English lessons for all proficiency levels, accent improvement lessons, exam preparation lessons, conversational lessons, and professional writing services.

Tell us a bit of your background and how you started your company?

We’ve always had an innate passion for helping others, and that notion naturally manifested into teaching for Nastassia. After completing university, Nastassia taught English in New York and then moved to Florida, where Daniel and Nastassia first met. From there, they wanted to explore e-learning in more depth, so Nastassia decided to start teaching online on various platforms.

Shortly after, we decided to change our life path, and we moved to Cascais, Portugal. Upon arrival, a worldwide recognized English learning company, Education First (EF), asked Nastassia to tour around all of Portugal to speak to secondary schools. Traveling and hearing the experiences from several teachers, Miss Acevedo began to correlate patterns and saw an opportunity to bridge the gap from the classroom to online learning. While Miss Acevedo provided with the business’s fundamental academics & mentoring side, collectively, Mr. Da Silva contributed with his stellar business management & creative background, as Xpertly was established.

Since then, Xpertly has been recognized by a variety of publications. We’ve helped hundreds of students succeed in basic English language skills, accent improvement, and projects for master’s programs. Even prepped a popular podcaster for essential interviews with English-speaking guests, such as Jay Shetty and Gary V, Simon Sinek, and The Iceman.

How do you separate yourself from your competitors?

Nastassia crafted a blended framework methodology based on her expertise in teaching internationally and her pioneer vision for Education in the modern world. Xpertly surpasses the competition because we have three crucial pillars in our teaching model. Firstly, we have a distinctive signature method for teaching English.

Secondly, Xpertly zones into your strengths and weaknesses and creates a customized learning plan tailored to fit you. Moreover, the course is aligned with your goals and not on the collective merit of a group; learning is online so that you may learn synchronously at your pace and at your convenience.

Furthermore, English learning sites, these days, require you to scroll through what feels like an endless number of self-proclaimed tutors. With Xpertly, the leg work is done for you. Once you’ve completed an assessment with one of our Xperts, we’ll place you with a teacher we know will help you fulfill your goals. In addition to this free assessment, where we cover your objectives, availability, and proficiency level, we provide you with a free customized plan, whether you decide to become a client with us. This personalized plan will be used with your assigned Xpert to ensure you stick to your goals, enhance your strengths, and improve weaknesses. We also provide monthly progress reports so you can track your progress.

What helps you stay driven and motivated to keep going in your business?

“Our community of teachers and students is our primary motivation.”

Knowing that we can help students worldwide achieve their English goals while also employing teachers to have an extra income stream are two factors that will forever be our motivation to keep striving and scaling this company.

What would you say are the top 3 skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur, and why?

  • Sheer Determination: Even if you are the most organized and prepared individual, there are always inevitable variables. There will always be obstacles to face and challenges to overcome. Without sheer determination, you will succumb to giving up.
  • Intuition : You must be willing to trust your instincts and start believing in yourself no matter what unknown situation arises.
  • Patience: All your hard work, diligence, and sacrifices will eventually pay off accordingly. Patience is a virtue, and you must get comfortable with time & the unknown.

What’s a productivity tip you swear by?

To-do lists.

At the beginning of this entrepreneurial journey, we had so many tasks piled up that we struggled to complete; with this notion, we overcame this by prioritizing our time. We knew we had to change our approach and invest proper time away from distractions. Organization is the most fundamental quality needed to perform successfully at any task.

How do you personally overcome fear?

We were born with a natural resilience towards life. However, we had to dig deeper within ourselves to get comfortable with the notion of failure. We believe that to get to the other side of fear; you need to get comfortable with unexpected variables. Once you realize that fear is part of an inevitable factor of life, just like at the core of any business, you will begin to reassess the things within your control.

What valuable advice would you give new entrepreneurs starting out?

Begin with micro-steps and conceptualize all the aspects of your goals. Give yourself feasible objectives, and don’t get overwhelmed with the bigger picture. With time that seed you planted will begin to blossom.

What is your favorite quote?

“If you have an infinite strategy in business, there will be no endpoint. There are no winners or losers in an infinite game; there is only ahead and behind.”

– Simon Sinek

What were the top three mistakes you made starting your business, and what did you learn from them?

  • Impulsive Decision Making: At times, being new business owners, you will make poor decisions based on impulse or lack of knowledge. To avoid this, make sure you research as much as possible and don’t feel threatened to make decisions instantly; it’s completely normal to take your time with decision-making.
  • Trust: We’ve come to learn that not everyone will have your best interest at heart. Even if you have formulated long-term relationships with team members and clients, you will always need to have transparent communication and contracts in place to provide a healthy business environment.
  • Being too Proud to Ask for Help: We both are prideful as anyone else and tend to want to accomplish goals and tasks on our own. We’ve never wanted to be a burden to our family or friends. We learned over time that it is entirely acceptable to ask for help when needed, and when we did ask for help, the outcome surpassed our expectations.

Tell us a bit about your marketing process; what has been the most successful form of marketing for you?

Believe it or not, the power of word of mouth! 60% of business derives from word of mouth. Of course, we experimented with ads, social media, etc. But most of our business comes from the trust and reputation we have built with our teachers and students.

Most recently, we have started a recruitment program with several of our partners, which has provided us with incredible results. Don’t underestimate the power of word of mouth!
